POLOKWANE-Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, the SAPS Provincial Commander of Media relations in Limpopo retired after 37 years of service.

Ngoepe was born and raised in Ga-Tauatswala, a small village in Mogalakwena Local Municipality.

He joined the police force back in 1985, where he started as a trainee.

“I was driven into this career whilst still at school. My teachers had full trust in my capabilities. I was in the forefront of protecting the SAPS’ corporate image as a media liaison officer for the past 27 years and I feel honoured”, Ngoepe said proudly.

Lieutenant Colonel Ngoepe received a number of awards, medals, and accolades as acknowledgment for his hard work and dedication during his time in the police service.

Needless to say, those who come after him have big shoes to fill.

“My Christian life has kept me centred and I leave behind a remarkable track record. My predecessor must respect the role of Media liaison officer and must respect all journalists because they represent the masses. He/she must love and respect the communities they serve, fight corruption and uphold the rule of law at all costs,” he mentioned.

In closing, Ngoepe said that he is grateful to his wife and children, parents, and siblings, who he said have been his biggest cheerleaders. He further said that he will miss his colleagues and members, who continue to be the champions of the fight against crime.
