POLOKWANE-The uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MK) has proudly announced the appointment of Tshikani Colleen Makhubele and Crown Prince Adil Nchabeleng as Members of Parliament, marking a significant step in the party’s mission for socio-economic transformation and national progress.
Both leaders will officially be sworn in on Tuesday, 28th January 2025.
In a statement, MK Secretary General Floyd Shivambu hailed Makhubele as a seasoned public servant, praising her remarkable leadership and governance experience.
Originally from Giyani, Makhubele has proven herself as an accomplished figure in both public service and business. She holds an MBA and has held key leadership roles, including serving as the Speaker of the Council and Chair of Chairs at the City of Johannesburg, where she represented the Congress of the People (COPE).
Additionally, Makhubele was the Chairperson of the Board for the Metropolitan Trading Company and served as a Non-Executive Director and Board Chair of the South African Post Office (SAPO).
Her extensive experience in governance, combined with her memberships in the Institute of Directors South Africa and the HCL Foundation Trust, underscores her commitment to ethical leadership and public service.
According to Shivambu, Makhubele’s vast experience aligns perfectly with the MK Party’s commitment to people-centered development and transformative change.
Before joining the MK Party, Makhubele had founded the South African Rainbow Alliance (SARA), a political party aimed at creating a more inclusive South Africa. However, following the underperformance of SARA in the 2024 national elections and concerns over the fairness of the electoral process, Makhubele made the decision to join MK on 29 August 2024, at the election results center in Midrand, where she publicly protested what she viewed as an unfair election outcome.
Alongside her, Crown Prince Adil Nchabeleng has also been appointed as a Member of Parliament.
A prince of the Pedi Tribe and a distinguished energy expert, Nchabeleng brings a dynamic blend of heritage and modern expertise to the party. He is widely respected for his work in project management, ICT entrepreneurship, and investment banking, as well as his leadership role in Transform RSA.
Nchabeleng’s expertise in energy and his active participation in MK’s National High Command and Economic Transformation Committee position him as a crucial advocate for socio-economic reforms and sustainable development.
