TOPANAMA-A woman’s screams weren’t enough to save her from a vicious attack that was orchestrated by a man whom she sought protection from.
Her screams in agony and pleas fell on deaf ears as a man who claimed to love her went full throttle on her with a panga on a bloody, chilled Saturday evening.
Those who reside just a stone’s throw away from the scene say the incident happened between the hours of 21: 00 and 22: 00 on January 6th.
In a brutal attack, Vinolia Sape took her last breath after she was butchered by her alleged lover at Topanama village in Greater Tzaneen.
The suspect ( 32 ), who is known to this publication, allegedly took a panga and chopped his girlfriend into pieces, leaving her in a pool of blood before fleeing the scene.
Speaking to Tzaneen Voice off the record on a quiet Sunday afternoon, community members say the deceased Vinolia seems to have tried to use her arms to try to protect her face from being hit by a panga however it was all in vain.
‘We are still traumatized by what we witnessed when arrived at that home. there was blood everywhere and Vinolia’s hands were butchered in pieces’, said a teary anonymous
Coincidentally, with the village named Topanama, a sotho translation of pick up the meat, when the forensic pathology services arrived at around 22: 30, they had to indeed pick up the pieces of meat belonging to a now deceased 28-year-old woman.
What may have triggered the anger of the suspect and subsequent killing of the victim remains anyone’s guess as villagers only recall the memories they shared with a woman who left her home at Khopo village in Lephepane only to die a horror death, allegedly at the hands of a man who claimed to love her.
There is no prize for guessing how the family of the victim is feeling at this point as they were visibly distraught upon visiting the scene of the crime on Sunday afternoon.
The Police were unavailable for comment at the time of publishing but the family confirmed that a case of murder has been registered under Ritavi police and an investigation to apprehend the suspect is imminent.
