PHALABORWA – A Cheetah roaming around the bush on the Gravelotte road near a lodge Under Baphalaborwa Municipality has been captured by wildlife rangers.
This was after the speedy cat reportedly escaped from one of the conservation facilities in the area.
The Cheetah was spotted by a motorist driving on the road from Mica Selati Gate near (willie, klipspringer, la belle) in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Limpopo Economic Development and Tourism (Ledet) confirmed that the predator was on the prowl and that rangers were hot on its heels after it had been spotted.
Ledet urged the public to stay away from any wild animals that have escaped their enclosures.
Phalaborwa is a tourist known to house the Phalaborwa gate into the world-renowned Kruger National Park that inhabits a range of animals including lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino widely known as the Big Five.
It is known for its wildlife and animals stray from their enclosures once in a while.
