Case against Bolobedu serial rapist postponed for bail hearing

KGAPANE-The Bolobedu alleged serial rapist’s case has been postponed to Wednesday, January 11 in the Bolobedu Magistrate’s Court for a formal bail hearing.

The matter was postponed to allow the accused, Bonolo Seoka, to apply for legal aid representation.

Seoka is facing two counts of rape and attempted murder after he was positively linked to the cases through DNA.

The suspect is also scheduled to appear in Tzaneen on Friday. Between 2015 and 2016, he allegedly raped women in and around Tzaneen. He has been positively linked to the cases using DNA evidence

The suspect also targeted women hitchhiking on the R71 road near Tzaneen Spur restaurant on the way to Phalaborwa and Giyani between 2015 and 2016.

The suspect may be linked to more cases as police investigations are still unfolding.

Police appeal to victims who may have fallen prey to this suspect to come foward and report the matter at the nearest police station or call the crime stop number 0860010111.

He will remain in custody until his next court appearance.
