Candy Tsa Mandebele to honour her late son with a tombstone

TZANEEN-Losing a child has to be every parent’s worst nightmare come true. The truth is, a parent never stops mourning the passing of their child, no matter how many years have rolled by.

One parent who knows the pain all too well is singer and actress Mosekedi Candy Mokwena, widely known as Candy Tsamandebele.

The Diteki hitmaker has had to overcome some hardships in her life including the tragic loss of her son, who died in an accident back in 2011.

Lesley Mokoena died in an accident aged 24


12 years after the tragic loss Candy is now ready to honour her son’s memory with a tombstone. The tombstone will be donated by Thabaletsi Tombstones based in Tzaneen town.

Lesley was only 24 years old when he passed on leaving behind his 5 months daughter.

Candy Mokwena, affectionately known as “Candy Tsa Mandebele, spotted at Thabaletsi tombstones, Tzaneen branch.

Talking to Tzaneen voice this afternoon while finalising the details of the tombstone, the management of Thabaletsi Cornelia Kobus said
“We are doing a tombstone for her son that passed away in a car accident some years back. And it’s also women’s month coming up and he died in women’s month,” 

The details of the unveiling are not yet decided but Tzaneen voice will keep an eye on the development.
