TZANEEN: A 42-year-old Ethiopian businessman was robbed of sixty thousand rands (R60 000) in Tzaneen CBD on Wednesday, December 21 at about 10h00.
Tzaneen SAPS communications officer sergeant Maurice Nkhwashu says the Ethiopian businessman left his shop in the Tzaneen CBD to deposit money into the nearby Standard Bank branch at Morgan Street and when he was about 2 metres from the Standard Bank branch entrance an unknown African male pointed him with a firearm and took the R 60 000-00 (sixty thousand rands only ) which was in a money bag and boarded passenger’s seat of a car which was waiting for him idling on the driveway and it sped off to an easterly direction towards FNB.
Tzaneen saps are investigating a case of armed robbery and the investigation is still underway.
