Bolobedu woman who was recorded while unconscious and being raped speaks out

GA-RAPITSI- The 29-year-old Mosibudi Mohlaloganye who was raped on a recorded video while heavily unconscious at a local tarven in Ga-Rapitsi Village under Greater Letaba municipality on Sunday morning, says the video of her being raped that is widely circulating on social media has put her in a distressing and humiliating ordeal.

In a devastating video clip that is widely circulating, Mosibudi was seen deep in her sleep and unconscious lying on the floor beside a pool table half-dressed, while a man who is known in the community was helping himself to her.

In an Interview with Tzaneen Voice, Mosibudi said she arrived at the tarven together with her friends around 01h00am from a tarven next to Modjadji Plaza and as the time went by, her friends left with their respective boyfriends and left her alone and stranded, she then decided to leave in the morning since it was late and dangerous to go home alone.

She further stated that the suspect introduced himself to her and offered to buy her alcohol and there was no agreement of sleeping together.

“The last thing I remember was when he bought me the first two ciders which I opened and he continued to buy more and from there I don’t remember what happened.

I found myself lying on the floor and fully dressed at 10h00am and upon my wake, was left startled when was shown a video of me being raped helplessly and unconscious” the victim said.

She alleges that the suspect might have spiked her drink, hence she can’t remember having sex with him.

The publication can reveal that the person who was taking a video of this ordeal has been arrested, while the man who raped her is currently at large after a case of rape has been opened with Bolobedu Police Station.

Mosibudi who is currently under the observation of social workers and Psychologists in Letaba Hospital and further says her wish is that the suspect and the person who took the video can face the full might of the law because they ruined her life and dignity.

Her words of advice to fellow ladies are that they should learn to buy themselves alcohol and avoid drink offers from strangers while at liquor outlets.

The ANC Youth League in Letaba has called upon the community at large to allow the law to take its course without any interference.

” We strongly believe that with the evidence available to the police, that barbaric fellow will be locked in jail for a term that deserves rapists” Letaba ANCYL Coordinator Malatja Thabane said.
