MOPJE- Bolobedu VW crew turned heads in a flashy convoy to Thlapedi Primary School on Saturday, June 5 at Mopje Village outside Tzaneen embarking on keep the child at school campaign.
The Bolobedu VW crew accompanied by the Phalaborwa VW crew was in partnership with ” His Presence Foundation” to bring light and smile to pupils of Thlapedi Primary School.
The crew is made up of members who hail from various areas of Bolobedu such as Kgapane, Relela, Khubjana, Sethong, Matipane, Lenyenye, and other areas around Tzaneen.
The VW crew solely donated a total number of 200 Sanitary towels to the needy learners around Mopje village while His Presence Foundation handed their share of donation in keeping the disadvantaged learners at school.
The crew comprises members who possess various qualifications such as Educators, Lawyers, Business Managers, Health Care Practitioners, Social Workers, Accountants, and others. The crew used their qualifications to motivate the learners.
“Apart from donating these sanitary towels, we also motivated the learners to remain at school to elevate their chances to succeed” Bolobedu VW  crew chairperson Clifford Makhonya explained.
Makhonya added that the crew will embark on another drive of “Keep the child clean” during father’s day on Sunday, June 20 whereby will be donating winter clothes to an area that will be disclosed soon enough.
The Chairperson further said the biggest lesson they had learned from the recent drive is that there are so many people out there who are living in absolute poverty and is everyone’s duty to give a good Samaritan hand.
The mother of two children who were part of the recipient of the sanitary towels told the Tzaneen Voice that she is very much happy to see people giving back to their communities.
“I’m delighted to see these guys making a difference to us the disadvantaged people because most of these guys grew up here” the mother of two added.
