TZANEEN- The 16-year-old Refilwe Malatji is one of the finalists for Miss Teen South Africa. She was born in Botludi Village in Bolobedu.
The grade 11 student at Pepps College says she has been in modeling for over a decade. Amongst other things, she is a motivational speaker.
Even though she was introduced to beauty pageant by friend, Malatji, has over a hundred titles and has competed in three international competitions.
“I once had a friend who was into modeling and told my mother that I wanted to also try it, then I entered a pageant and fell in love with it,” she explains.
.The teenage model wishes to start a campaign that will teach children from a young age to educate them about their worth and some life skills.
“ My future long term goals is to become a medical doctor(Gynecologist)” she said
“A message for my peers is that they should never give up on their dreams and shouldn’t listen to the negative things people have to say about them, they should always put education as their priority so that they can secure a bright future for themselves”
She also wants to do well in the Miss teen SA competition not forgetting her education.
“Winning this competition would mean a lot as I could use the platform to inspire young girls” she concluded.
