POLOKWANE-The Police in Tshilwavhusiku have launched a manhunt for the male suspect following a reported rape incident that occurred on Friday, 10 November 2023 at Madodonga village, outside Thohoyandou in Vhembe District.
It is alleged that the victim, a 22-year-old woman was with her boyfriend and their friends at a tavern on Friday, 10 November 2023 and was approached by a known male suspect pretending to be a Prophet and told the victim that he had a lot of her prophecies that needed him and her to get away from the company of their friends so that he could deliver more prophecies to her pertaining to her life challenges.
It is alleged that the victim joined the suspect towards his place of residence. As they were walking in a near bushes away from the boyfriend and her other friends, before they reached the suspect’s home suddenly the suspect forced himself into the victim raping her while threatening to stab her with a sharp instrument after he slapped her on the face with an open hand.
Afterwards, the suspect allegedly fled the scene on foot leaving the victim behind.
The Police are investigating the case of rape assigned to Makhado Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences. Moyahabo Lishi is requested by the Police to come forward to assist with investigations.
