BA-PHALABORWA- During the Annual General Meeting that was held at Cajori Hotel in Phalaborwa on Saturday, May 13.
The Black Lawyers Association (BLA) Secretary Lerato Sinyosi said the association is deeply concerned about black lawyers being struck off the roll, not making it at Law School and the delays in them being admitted as Attorneys of High Court and as Advocates.
She further said that the Black Lawyers Association is worried about the scourge of Gender Based Violence (GBV) has now become a pandemic in society.
Meanwhile, the CEO of Musina Makhado SEZ Lehlogonolo Masoga said that Black Lawyers need to be empowered and not wait for opportunities, he further said black lawyers should be ready to receive instructions.
He said that these Lawyers should be the ones leading the legal fraternity.
Amongst the attendance at the AGM was the Chairperson of the South African Women Lawyers Association (SAWLA)Pertunia Thulare, Black Lawyers Association NEC Member Charlotte Malatji, Black Lawyers Association Lerato Sinyosi, Members of Polokwane Bar Association, Limpopo Bar Association.
