MALAMULELE- ANC Provincial Chairperson Stan Mathabatha has reaffirmed that Limpopo is still in support of Cyril Ramaphosa second term’s presidential candidature, despite their attack towards the Step-Aside rule.

Mathabatha was speaking during the funeral of the slain mayor of Collins Chabane municipality, Cllr Moses Maluleke at Saselamani stadium in Malamulele on Tuesday, August 02.

” As a province, we might have differences with President Cyril Ramaphosa on Step-Aside, but that does not change our support of President Cyril Ramaphosa” Mathabatha affirmed.

During the party 6th national policy conference, Mathabatha ANC-led province joined forces with the dominated anti-Ramaphosa ANC KZN for the scrapping of the Step-Aside, citing that is not conducive and it is unfair to comrades.

The attack towards the thorny Step-aside enjoyed not enough expression in the conference and was retained.

Mathabatha is expected to stand for an NEC position in the party’s national elective conference in December and his name appears under President Cyril Ramaphosa’s leadership slate.
