Alleged Tender Scammer Shot Dead at Foskor Mine in Phalaborwa

PHALABORWA – An alleged tender scammer was fatally shot at Foskor Mine in Phalaborwa on the morning of Friday, May 16, 2025.

Emergency services and police responded to the scene, where the man’s body was discovered in a forested area within the mine premises. Foskor Mine management was also present at the scene.

While the identity of the deceased has not been officially released, preliminary information suggests he may have been involved in fraudulent activities related to tender scams.

Foskor has previously issued warnings about individuals misrepresenting themselves as company representatives to solicit money from unsuspecting businesses and job seekers in exchange for false promises of employment or contracts

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, and authorities have not confirmed any suspects or motives at this time. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
