ActionSA has on Wednesday, August 02 spearheaded a service delivery march in Pretoria to hand over a memorandum of demands to police Minister Bheki Cele. The march is led by party leader Herman Mashaba.

The memorandum detail the failures of South Africa Police Service (SAPS) stations across the country. Issues pertaining to the high crime rate, telephone lines not working, lack of electricity backup during load shedding and unavailability of police vans to mention, but, a few.

“Over the past few weeks, we have repeatedly been reminded of the decay in the SAPS. Our residents have been left defenceless as the force continues to fail to respond to emergencies or do not have the capacity or resources”, Mashaba announced.

“ActionSA recognizes that many men and women in blue work tirelessly against all odds, to give effort to their duties and to keep us safe. The failures of the police stations must be placed at the feet of the SAPS leadership and the Minister”, he added.

The party, thus, demands that the Minister takes action to turn around the situation by presenting an action plan within three(3) months.
