A stolen Ford Raptor destined for Zimbabwe intercepted near Polokwane

POLOKWANE-A 33-year-old South African male suspect was arrested after being found in possession of a bakkie valued at over a million rand.

The vehicle was intercepted in Polokwane en route to be smuggled into Zimbabwe through the Beitbrige border post. The suspect was arrested following a high-speed car chase.

The recovered motor vehicle was reported stolen on Wednesday, 21 February in Alberton, Gauteng province.

The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe is impressed with the successes achieved by members of this operational team and the great partnership with our private sector.

The suspect is expected to appear before Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Monday 26 Magistrate’s Court facing a charge of possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle.

Police investigations continue.
