TZANEEN- The 33-year-old Barry Senyolo from Relela Village, was sentenced to life in prison by the Tzaneen Magistrate Court on Monday, May 08.
Senyolo was slapped with life imprisonment after being found guilty of the murder of Karabo Sewape in 2017.
According to the charge sheet, the murder convict stabbed Sewape to death with a sharp object, after an argument in Mmakobjana tavern at Relela village in May of 2017.
The suspect was arrested a few days later and subsequently granted bail after several court appearances.
After six (6) years of appearance while outside the police custody, Senyolo was finally found guilty by the Tzaneen Magistrate in March this year and was remanded in custody waiting for a life sentence, which began on Monday, 8 May 2023.
The Tzaneen Police management welcomed the sentence and said this would serve as a deterrent to the would-be offenders.
