MOKWAKWAILA-A taxi that was hijacked at gunpoint by three men posing as customers on Wednesday night at R36 Near Khujwana has been recovered in the Mokwakwaila area.
According to Ritavi SAPS report a Toyota Quantum was driving from Burgersdorp to Nkowankowa with one female passenger.
When passing the Busstop at Carlotta clinic, 03 males stopped the vehicle and they informed the driver that they are going to Khujwana.
To driver ‘s shock the three men instead getting off they then overpowered him at gunpoint, tied him and drove with him until Thapane in Bolobedu.
The matter was reported to the police and the taxi was fitted with a tracking device.
The taxi was tracked to Mokwakwaila. When the men realized that they were being followed by police, they abandoned the vehicle.
One suspect was arrested on the spot while others are still at large and the second escorting vehicle was impounded.
The suspect will appear in court soon.
