LULEKANI – A lifeless body of a 46-year-old Salamao Ishmael Mashava was discovered hanging on a tree at around 09:30 on November 01.
The Lulekani police are investigating an inquest case following Mozambican National Ishmael Salamao Mashava’s disappearance.
According to Lulekani Police Spokesperson Sergeant Ntsako Reoh Mabunda, the deceased allegedly left his parents’ home at Kurhula Settlement on Tuesday, 27 October 2020 in the morning and never returned.
He further mentioned that after his disappearance, his family immediately reported his missing to the police, and a serious search operation was conducted.
A team of dedicated uniform and detective members were activated and their tireless efforts led to the information of a lifeless body which was found hanged in the nearby bushes of Lulekani next to Dr. Khosa farm.
The Mozambican national was found at a decomposed stage.
“Paramedics were summoned and declared him dead on the scene and that subsequently led to an inquest docket to be opened and under investigation,” Sergeant Mabunda said.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased was conveyed to Maphutha Hospital government mortuary by the forensic pathologist where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
