VHULAUDZI: The South African Police Service in Vhulaudzi under Vhembe District are investigating the rape of a 07-year-old girl by her 16-year-old cousin at Murunwa village on Saturday, 28 October 2023.
According to police report at this stage, the victim went to her cousin’s home with the intention to watch Television (TV). While watching the Television, the suspect took the victim to the bedroom and removed her clothes before raping her.
After the rape ordeal, the suspect released the victim who went home and informed her mother. The matter was immediately reported to the police and the rape case was opened against a 16 year-old boy. The minor suspect was arrested and released under Parental Care.
He is expected to appear before the Dzanani Magistrate Children’s Court on Monday ,30 October 2023 facing charges of rape.
