PHARARE VILLAGE-The Police in Maake have activated a massive manhunt for suspects that raped a 53-year-old woman, and shot-injuring her partner and brother in law, at Pharare village under Greater Tzaneen on Friday, 27 October 2023 and at around 21h00.
According to information, the three victims were on their way to Solani village coming from Pharare village, when two suspects with balaclava emerged from behind and suddenly fired several shots in their direction. The suspects dragged the female victim to the nearby bushes and one of them raped her, thereafter, fled on foot.
During the shooting, the two males sustained injuries. The Police were notified together with Emergency Medical Services, on arrival, the victims were found with gun wounds and taken to the hospital, together with the rape victim for medical treatment.
The police have since opened two counts of attempted murder and rape.
