BOLOBEDU- The police in Tzaneen are investigating a case of rape. This comes after a 52-year-old male from Kubjane village, in Bolobedu, outside Tzaneen was attacked and sexually assaulted.
It is alleged that, on Saturday 17 October 2020, the man was walking alone, on his way home when the unfortunate incident occurred. He was coming from Moleketla village in the wee hours at around 00:30 when he decided to take a short cut, which is a gravel road. That is when he was accosted by seven men. They then surrounded him and instructed him to lie down on his stomach. They then proceeded to rob him of his personal belongings. According to the victim they took his clothes, cellphone, and shoes.
He further stated that one of the suspects then sexually assaulted him. The victim managed to identify the man as Chris.
Police investigations are underway and they are in a search of a man by the name of Chris and his accomplices.
Sergeant Maurice Nkwashu of Tzaneen police said “we discourage people from walking alone in secluded places, particularly at night” He then mentioned that they are investigating a case of rape.
