A 26-year-old woman raped in Lephepane village

LEPHEPANE-Ritavi police have strengthened a manhunt for an unknown male suspect who raped a 26-year-old woman at Lephepane village, New Stands on Monday 13 May 2024 at about 16:00.

The victim was reportedly walking along the street when she came across an unknown male suspect who was wearing a red work suit.

The suspect allegedly grabbed and strangled a 26-year-old victim before pushing her to the ground. The victim was undressed and untimely raped by the suspect who fled the scene on foot and disappeared in the bushes afterward.

The victim managed to get assistance and reported the incident to the police who immediately opened a rape case. A 26-year-old victim alleges that the suspect is known to her by sight and is suspected to be staying around Lephepane village.

A manhunt for his apprehension is ongoing and police urge anyone with information that can assist should contact the Investigating Officer Lieutenant Colonel Isaac Mahlane on 0824692625 or crime stop number 0860010111 or nearest police station or MySAPSApp.
