KGAPANE-Matome Semosa (13), was reported lost by this publication after he was taken to Modjadjiskloof police station by a community member on Thursday.

The police reported that Semosa claimed that he was from Ga-sekgopo village and that he was in the company of his uncle who left him in Kgapane.

It has since been established that the boy’s theory was an orchestrated lie after he went to initiation school without his parents’ consent and failed to return home when initiation season ended.

The boy’s family is reported to have opened a missing person case at Kgapane police station following his disappearance, only to discover that he went to initiation school.

Some community members came forward after seeing his story and claimed they have spotted him alone, without the “uncle”.

“The boy was seen around Motsinoni village earlier on Thursday. He was not interested in going home. I was flabbergasted when I saw reports indicating that he is lost”, an anonymous said.

According to Constable Elliot Mabulane of Modjadjiskloof police station, the boy indicated that he was from Ga-sekgopo village.

As it stands, the boy has successfully been reunited with his family in Mesopotamia, Kgapane.
