A memorial service honouring the life and achievements of Limpopo Provincial Inspector Itani Robina Ravhele was held at Phosphate Hall in Namakgale on Wednesday, June 21.
The memorial service was attended by hundreds of people, including family, friends, colleagues Limpopo Department of Transport, the Phalaborwa VW crew and many others and was an opportunity for those present to celebrate her life and share their memories of her.
Speaker after speaker shared the sentiments that Ravhele was a loving and caring person during her memorial service.
Her friend Provincial Inspector Masoma Malesa said she met inspector 36-year-old Robina Itani Ravhele at Giyani during the Provincial Traffic Learnership and they were called and both realised that they are from Namakgale and they clicked from the on-set until they were called that they were successful and their friendship grew more at Traffic college until they graduated and deployed.
She says Itani loved good food and good life. She said she lost a great sister a colleague and a friend.
Inspector Ravhele was also a member of the Phalaborwa VW crew an organisation that assists the community of Phalaborwa in charity events.
Rabbi Maake a representative from the Phalaborwa VW Crew said Itani was a highly disciplined, dependable and reliable member of the Phalaborwa VW Crew.
She had a great track record of good behaviour and was always present during some of the charity drives that the Crew was doing in the community. Maake described inspector Itani Robina Ravhele as a rare breed.
Provincial inspector Robina Itani Ravele who knocked down by Nissan LDV on 15 June while on duty near Ngulube Lodge just outside Phalaborwa. She will be laid to rest on Friday at Mauluma village in Thohoyandou.
