LEPHALALE- A 2-year-old boy was killed when a refrigerator fell onto him at Onverwacht in Lephalale on Saturday afternoon, police said.
According the police report the child was in the company of his aunt around 15h30, walking from one of the supermarkets when he reportedly played with an old fridge placed outside the supermarket.
According to information received the fridge fell on him, causing multiple injuries.
He was taken to the nearest hospital where on arrival the doctor certified him dead.
Lephalale police say they have opened an inquest for further investigation.
