300 volunteers wanted for Netball World Cup 2023

POLOKWANE-With the 2023 Netball World Cup just over 200 days away, organisers of the global showpiece have announced that the volunteer registration to assist in several roles is open. According to the announcement on the website – NWC 2023 is looking for 300 people.

The opportunity is open to South African citizens as well as international.

“Volunteer registration is now open for 300 South African and International citizens to participate in the Netball World Cup which takes place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.”

The 2023 Netball World Cup will be the sixteenth staging of the premier competition in international netball, contested every four years. The tournament will be held from Friday, 28 July to Sunday, 6 August at the International Convention Centre in Cape Town, South Africa. This will mark the first time the tournament will be held in Africa.

“No previous volunteer experience or formal qualifications are needed to participate as full training will be provided.  Volunteers will be required for a variety of roles such as hospitality, ticketing, court side assistants and much more, to help Netball World Cup 2023 deliver a truly unique South African World Cup experience.”

“Completed registration forms to be submitted by no later than 15 February 2023.

There are a limited number of volunteer roles available and shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview at the Volunteer Office at the CTICC/City of Cape Town library/Waterfront Hotel (venue examples).”

As the rest of the world looks to descend to African Soil ahead of the tournament, we look ahead to the 2023 Netball Quad Series will be played in Cape Town from the 21st till 25th of January 2023.

The hosts of the Netball World Cup, have been drawn in a tough Pool C group alongside Wales, Jamaica and Sri Lanka.

The Netball World Cup 2023 draw took place on Wednesday 30th November 2022, at the East London Convention Centre, South Africa, confirming the four pools for the first stage of the tournament.
