FOBENI VILLAGE: An investigation has been launched after a teenage girl was allegedly raped while sleeping with her grandmother in Bolobedu.
The horrific incident took place at Fobeni Village in Bolobedu South under Greater Tzaneen on Wednesday, October 26.
It is alleged that at about 02:00 an unknown suspect barged into the house where the 17 years old teenager was sleeping with her grandmother, the suspect threatened them with a knife and repeatedly raped the teenager while the granny is watching.
According to Tzaneen SAPS communication Officer sergeant Maurice Nkhwashu “The community is shocked that the ordeal took place at home while sleeping at the comfort of her house.
“Everybody is devastated and extremely sorry, with huge sympathy for the victim.”
“A case of rape has been registered under Tzaneen Police station and investigations are ongoing and no arrests have been made”
It is further alleged that the suspect is tall and dark in complexion and he was wearing black and shiny tracksuit pants plus top.
