TZANEEN : 12 illegal immigrants were arrested following a roadblock on the R71 road in Tzaneen today.
The roadblock comes after the Greater Tzaneen Municipality partnered with South African Police Services, Private security, Community Policing Forum , and Home Affairs.
This was done to control traffic in anticipation of the Easter weekend, law officials checked if drivers were complying to road regulations.
They also checked road worthiness , driver license ,outstanding traffic’s fines, overloading , Illegal immigrants , weapons drugs and drunk drivers.
28 tickets were issued during the roadblock.
