10-hour power cuts to hit Polokwane

POLOKWANE- Residents of Polokwane should brace themselves for the long hours of power cut as the municipality has announced a 10-hour power outage on Saturday, November 05.

The Polokwane municipality has announced a 10-hour planned power cut that will affect some areas and properties that are fed from Gamma, Industria, Laboria and Lerouxville substation.

The interrupted electricity supply will start from 06h00 in the morning until 16h00 on Saturday, 05 November.

The Municipality said the 10-hour long power outage is a result of the maintenance work that is due to take place.

Areas to be affected are:

“Users from all affected areas are urged to treat all electrical wiring as live and to switch off all appliances to avoid injury and damage once supply is restored.” the Municipality cautioned.

Last week on Wednesday, scores of protesters from Seshego and surrounding areas closed down Seshego and Polokwane central demanding that the mayor fix the water supply issues and the municipality indicated that the water crisis faced with, is a result of the recurring loadshedding.

The City of Polokwane Executive Mayor John Mpe met with the communities of Seshego on November 02, to discuss and provide updates on the water crisis and other service delivery issues.
